Gratitude. Peace. Love.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I am so excited to have my parents, my brother-in-law and possibly my sister coming to our new house today for Thanksgiving. I have so many things to be grateful for, always, and while I do try to stay cognizant of what I have in my day-to-day, it is fun to dedicate a day to just being aware.

“As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them.”
– John Fitzgerald Kennedy

This year certainly has been full of change and while some change was sad, most of it was of the happy variety.

I do really wish Lucky was here to celebrate with us. He always loved having the whole family together. But now we have baby Griffey, who we will have to keep a close eye on so he doesn’t sneak food off the table (like he did at our wedding!) but who will love having everyone around just the same.

Speaking of our wedding, we have received some very thoughtful words and gifts from all around. I really feel like we are nobodies so it is astonishing to me when people go out of their way for us.

My hubby’s office came together and sent home an incredibly generous gift card (to Pier One!) and some lovely fall themed wine glasses. I couldn’t believe it! Another co-worker gave us a gift certificate to an Italian Bistro in the city which I am excited to use. My parents gave us the means for a quick honeymoon north. I want to go to Vancouver and the Mr. wants to go to Victoria. We’ll see. 🙂 My best friend sent me the cutest pjs. I can’t explain how much I love cute jammies! Every year I have to go through my pj drawer and thin it out because I collect them and it gets too full. I currently can just barely close the drawer. Oops!

I am so appreciative of their generosity and will pay it forward. So here is a toast to paying it forward, to making everyday great, and being grateful for all I have and hold dearest. Prost! Have a great day everyone!

This is totally what our table is going to look like today.
