No, we don’t have the kid yet, but she does make her presence known constantly (by kicking my insides around like soccer balls.)
We decided to go ahead and celebrate Mother’s and Father’s Day this year, because we can! Mother’s Day involved Ethiopian food which made it fantastic for me. Father’s Day turned out to be James’ only day off of work that week so we enjoyed it to the max. 🙂
I made him a giant breakfast with scrambled eggs, potato hash with mushroom gravy, veggie sausage, and grapes. It was quite delicious if I do say so myself.
Then he opened his present (with Griffey’s assistance of course!)
The afternoon was spent in the back yard planting lavender (his favorite) and a chocolate cosmos plant that truly smells like chocolate. Lots of weeding, playing with pups, lawn mowing, and running amok rounded out our activities.
We had a great time. I look forward to next year when the kid can hand out her own presents. 😉 Hope everyone who celebrated had such a lovely day.
